INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATION AND CATEGORIES

FFS INSTRUCTOR CATEGORIES

I've been receiving a lot of enquiries lately regarding my Instructor Certification and the Levels of progression.

In the late '80's I only had "one" level for Instructors. Since then so much has evolved and developed that this year I decided it was only fair to recognise those who have ongoing training and have kept up to date with Floro Fighting Systems.

I also wanted to differentiate those who were "Certificate Collectors" to those I keep in regular contact. Those who have experienced FFS will know that it is a style that is going through CONSTANT evolution.

So in reality those who have been awarded Certification more than 5 years ago. Are now out dated.

Does that mean that their Certs are invalid? No!  But, the current FFS system is guaranteed to be better and WILL beat the old.

I have used the word "Level" recently.

But will now change it to "CATEGORY". I DO NOT want to falsely portray that a Category ONE is anymore less accomplished than a Category- FOUR.

It just means that they have been certified in more areas of FFS than the others

For example, the areas you can specialise in are:- Knife, Machete, Kalis Ilustrisimo, Impact Weapons, Flexible Weapons, Unarmed/Filipino Boxing, Security/Control and Restraint.

Sooooo if you do a Certification on knife. You are Category 1. Later if you want to certify in Kalis Ilustrsimo. Then you are category 2 and so on.

The reason for this is flexibility. Many of my students are ALREADY Instructors who run successful schools. So they come to me wanting to offer their students an edged weapons defence component. So all they need then, is a Certification on Knife.

Some choose to learn all facets of FFS. It is up to the individual and how it suits their specific needs.

SO IF YOUR NAME IS ON MY NEW WEBSITE rayfloro.net THEN YOU ARE CURRENT AND PEOPLE ARE RECOMMENDED TO LEARN FROM YOU

Any questions, feel free to ask. Those who want to update their Certs. Please contact me

Overseas Instructors is s unique case. Please contact me via pm to work something out
